East beats West thanks to West double Print
Fraserburgh and Fort William both put out extremely youthful sides for this clash at Claggan Park and in the end if was East that beat West by five goals to nil.  Alan Hale got the ball rolling in the second minute with the simplest of finishes, slotting home after Richard Munro failed to deal with a Jamie Beagrie effort.

On 17 minutes Graham Johnston went on the attack down the left and played in a low, hard cross which was cleared out to the right by Andy Martin, but when the ball was played back into the box and it fell at the feet of Neil Main who shot well over.

Midway through the first half a miles offside Jamie Beagrie crossed in from the left and the ball was again cleared by Andy Martin for a corner which came to nothing, then two minutes later Fort had a good chance when Mike Gillespie was clear down the left hand side but just as he lined up his shot he was outmuscled by Dean Elrick.

Fraserburgh went in search of a second and were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area after 28 minutes which Alan Hale took quickly but Richard Munro was equal to it and he saved at the foot of right hand post.

They maintained the pressure and Jamie Beagrie again set free Alan Hale who rounded Richard Munro, flying out of his area, and fired his shot across goal and past the far post.

They finally made it two after 38 minutes when a powerful shot by Graham Johnston from the right hand edge of the box was parried by goalkeeper Munro to Willie West who side footed home from a couple of yards.

Half Time: Fort William 0 Fraserburgh 2

The next goal would decide the shape of the second half and it went to the visitors.  Sean Ellis lost ball in midfield after 58 minutes and it was picked up by Jamie Beagrie who played in Graham Johnston and he rounded Richard Munro and finished

Just three minutes later it was four and that man Beagrie was involved again. He picked up the ball on the right and beat Michael Rodgers before taking it past Richard Munro, who clipped his heels and the ball fell to Willie West who slotted home for the second time of the afternoon. Then on 67 minutes Jamie Beagrie hit a cross come shot which rebounded off the left hand stanchion and fell to Willie West who missed great opportunity to seal his hat trick.

With 15 minutes to go Fort William had a good opportunity with Mike and Sean Ellis combining resulting in Sean firing a left footed shot wide when he really should have scored.

Then, to add some salt into the wounds Fraserburgh made it five with an own goal in injury time. The ball somehow found its way into the net off of Michael Rodgers following some pin ball in the box.
