Three but certainly not easy for the Lilywhites Print
The wintry conditions had improved slightly in Inverness as Clachnacuddin and Fort William battled in one of only three Highland League games that hadn't fallen victim to the weather.

Clach were in control for most of the game, and their first chance came 6 minutes into the match, when Andrew MacAskill played in a corner from the right, and it was met by Gordon Morrison, who headed a shot at goal, but it was just over, and bounced onto the top of the net. Fort William then had the next good chance of the game after a corner was played in from the left, and was poorly cleared before it was cleared off the line by Paul Smith.

Clachnacuddin then had another great chance to break the deadlock, when MacCaskill played in a corner again, and Colin Williamson met the ball just in front of goal with a glancing header, but it was just wide of the right post.

Fort forward Johnathan Hewitt came close shortly after with his attack down the right wing on 23 minutes, but he overran it, and from a tight angle his shot hit off the right post. Fort William thought they had managed to open the scoring 5 minutes later, but Sean Ellis's short range shot into the goal was deemed offside.

The first goal came just 8 minutes from half time, but it was more than worth the wait for the Clach support. Clach had been awarded a free kick a few yards from the 18 yd box, and it was taken by captain Gordon Morrison.  He struck the ball high over the wall, dipping to hit the cross bar and bounce down onto the keeper who was caught by surprise, and it just crossed the line.

Fort William started the second half with a substitution, replacing Sean Ellis with Iain Maclellen. Almost immediately after the whistle, Clach attempted to extend their lead, with Stuart Leslie putting in a short pass to Blair Lawrie, who then took a chipped shot on goal, but it was caught by Fort keeper Stuart McKenzie. 25 minutes later, Fort William had their first good chance to level from a free kick taken by the substitute Maclellen, and his low shot beat the wall, but it was collected by Clach keeper David Harrison.

The home team doubled their lead a minute later though, after they were awarded a penalty when Stuart Leslie was taken down in the box by at least 2 Fort players. The following penalty was taken by Michael Finnis, who hit it high into the roof of the net.

Clach then almost went 3 up, when Kyle MacLean received a pass from Blair Lawrie, and with plenty of room fired high, only to strike the bar.   However the Lilywhites sealed their win 5 minutes from time, through Blair Lawrie. Lawrie had picked up the ball from a short pass in the centre circle, and went on a mazy.  Although his first shot was blocked by the scrappy defence, but he scored the rebound.
