McKenzie and Campbell both out for Huntly but new signings should feature Print
The preparations for John Teasdale's first full season in charge of Huntly begin in earnest as the Black and Golds welcome Peterhead to Christie Park for this pre-season friendly. The match will be the Blue Toon's second against Highland League opposition in a matter of days having drawn with Inverurie Locos on Tuesday before they continue their busy schedule at Keith on Saturday.

Teasdale is looking to focus on giving as many players as many minutes as possible as his squad gears up for the rigours of the forthcoming Highland League campaign. The Huntly manager said:

"It is probably a week too early for us but it was the only time that Peterhead had available so we took it. I would probably have liked another week of training before a game of this size. They are a Scottish League Two team so they are bound to be a bit fitter and a bit stronger but it will give me a chance to give my boys a run out for 45 minutes or an hour.

"I am sure that Peterhead are of the same mindset that these games are just about getting players up to match fitness. With their season starting a week before ours, they will need to be a step ahead of us. They had a good game so I am sure they are just trying to give everyone as much game time as well. It is not a game where I am thinking ‘I need to put my strongest team out and go and win the game.' It is a game where everybody needs to get some game time and we will move on from there."

The hosts will be without Ross McKenzie for the game as he is suffering from a serious back problem that has kept him off his work over the summer months while central defender Ross Campbell is at a wedding in the USA. New signings Adam Naismith, David Angus, Donald Horsburgh, Graham Stark and Jordan Timmons are all fit and ready to make their first appearances though while a handful of youth players will also be involved as they look to prove that they have what it takes to step up to the first team squad ahead of the new campaign.
