Inconsistent Turriff United look to hit the high notes again as they welcome a Rothes side whose positive start to the season has tapered off in recent weeks for this Highland League encounter at The Haughs.
The hosts have been involved in a string of high-scoring affairs so far this season, the latest coming last week at Nairn County as they went down by five goals to two after looking like they had tightened things up in their previous outings. Manager Kris Hunter is now demanding his troops get back to basics defensively as he said:
"The defensive mistakes killed us last week but we have had a good week of training and sometimes make mistakes and disappointments in games make you better for the next game and hopefully that will be the case. We know it will be difficult because Rothes are a good, hard-working team and they will be looking to get a win under their belts after some disappointing recent results.
"The results last week just showed how competitive this league is going to be this year. Rothes made it very difficult for us last year when they beat us twice towards the end of the season. We got a win over them at the start of last season when we didn't deserve to win so our record is not great against them and we need to put that right. I believe if our players do play to their capabilities then they should be coming away with the three points."
