Watson double act keeps Cove ticking over |

Cove Rangers remain the only team not to have lost a game in any competition so far this season with their 3-1 victory over Rothes at Mackessack Park seeing them tuck in behind Inverurie Locos and Buckie Thistle as the league table begins to take shape.
In the first ten minutes the Rothes defence was being tested the most as ambitious efforts from Cove bombarded the Rothes, there was little in the way of clearcut opportunities created.
The first real effort on goal of the game was created when Daniel Park drifted to the right and crossed a ball into the back post where Murray McCulloch was on his own, but Ricky Horne did well to narrow the angle and prevent an opener.

Daniel Park, yet again, whipped in a good cross from the right which Rothes struggled to deal with and finally it fell into the path of Eric Watson who had a gaping goal to aim at, he took the chance well and side footed it into the net with the Rothes keeper in no mans land.
The game was turning into an enjoyable one for Cove as they doubled their lead three minutes later. Cove had a corner on the right hand side which was crossed in by Kevin Webster and the ball went through a ruck of players to Calum Watson who was unmarked and he calmly volleyed the ball with his right foot over Ricky Horne and Steven Fraser and into the net.
