Rare stalemate as Brora and Clach draw a blank Print
A rare goalless encounter in the Scot Ads Scottish Highland Football League saw Brora Rangers and Clachnacuddin claim their second draw in their opening three league games to move clear of Wick Academy, Rothes and Buckie Thistle in the league table.

With two minutes gone Clach had the first opportunity when Andrew Fraser carried the ball down the right wing and John MacLeod's powerful shot was well saved by Taylor's right foot.

Brora's first opportunity came one minute later when Gary Macleod coolly carried the ball past Adam Naismith and played in the perfect cross for Kevin Macleod and his header was tipped past the post by Hastie.

With 15 minutes gone a long ball out of the Brora defence found Sam MacKay running through to cross to Jake Inglis but he couldn't control the ball and Naismith picked up and cleared any danger.

Neil MacCuish played in John Macleod after 19 minutes and he pushed the ball past Taylor and dived over the Brora goalkeeper but shouts for a penalty were waved away.

Midway through the first half saw Clach best attack when a John McLeod's cross found David Watson who fooled Michael Stephen and took the ball past Taylor but luckily for the home side Mark Smith was there to clear off the line.

With five minutes remaining in the first half a superb Jake Ingles corner found Brora's big Mark Smith whose powerful header was heading for the bottom corner but Hastie made a good save to push the ball past post.

Three minutes into the second period Brora were on the attack when a superb run from Sam MacKay resulted in a floated cross to Kevin McLeod but his header caused Hastie no problems.

On the hour mark McLean controlled the ball on the outside of the box and shot just wide before a decent cross from Adam Naismith picked out Neil MacCuish whose superb header was well saved by Taylor.

With 15 minutes to play a superb ball from Mark Smith over the Clach defence was collected by Sam MacKay and his low effort was saved by Hastie before a another superb ball from man of the match Mark Smith found Mark Kennedy who went on a run down the wing and fired in a cross to Jake Inglis whose shot flew just over the bar as the game came to an end with neither team finding the net.
