| Thistle rises from the Ashes but Broch always in control |

It was 4 wins out of their last 4 in Fraserburgh's league campaign - but Strathspey made them work for it despite being 4 goals down at the break. The Ashes may finally be over, but in the first half in looked like Fraserburgh may have racked up a cricket score by 4.45, although this was not to be as Thistle hauled back 2 in the second half. The Broch were 4 goals up within 25 minutes through strikes from Graham Johnston (2), Jonathan Garden and Allan Hale, before missing a flurry of chances before the break, however some pride was restored when Gaff and Mochan netted in the final 20 minutes.
Straight from the off, Strathspey looked under the cosh, David Ritchie gifting possession to Neil Main on the halfway line, ‘Junior' played through Johnston, however his effort was blocked well by McRitchie on 2 minutes, and then instantly they found themselves with another opportunity, Steven Main found space to cross into Hale at the back post, but he struck the bar from 3 yards out. The home side then got their noses in front with their next chance; Robert Morrice skinning David Ross with ease, targeting his low cross into Johnston, McRitchie managed to get a hold of the ball but slipped and dropped it from his grasp at the feet of Graham Johnston who made it 1-0. Soon after, Fraserburgh doubled their advantage. Neil Main took it by Ross, but overhit his cross. McBride then did superbly well to keep the ball in play, and it fell to Jonathan Garden who rifled it into the bottom corner. Strathspey almost found the net - but the only problem was it was their own! Steven Main's flick-on fell to Ross who seemed to completely lose his bearings and hit the ball off his own post; it was almost a disaster for the Seafield park side. But things only got worse with 2 goals in 2 minutes for Fraserburgh, Joe Hardie needlessly hauled down Hale inside the box, Morag Pirie didn't hesitate in pointing to the spot, Allan Hale stepped up and dispatched the spot kick low to his left. The home fans barely had time to celebrate the 3rd goal as they found a 4th, a mishit clearance fell to Jamie Beagrie, his effort ricocheted off the post and McRitchie, but eventually fell to Graham Johnston who fired home the rebound. Jamie Beagrie also came close, and Morrice really should have scored, sidefooting wide from 6 yards out when normally you would bet on him putting the ball in the net. The visitors got their first real chance near the end of the first period, Ross MacKay played a neat one-two with Tolga Dagtas, he was unlucky in the end though as Leask did well to keep out MacKay's effort with his foot. Half-Time: Fraserburgh 4-0 Strathspey Thistle As the second half began, Fraserburgh corresponded with a couple of half-chances, notably Allan Hale firing over from Neil Main's tantalising cross, as well as Johnston's chip on McRitchie which was well read by Thistle's No 1, before Neil Main's cross that Garden and Beagrie both slid in for, but it took a nick off Ross and went behind for a corner. The Broch seemed to drop down a gear or two after that, and Strathspey found the net. Substitute Cameron Gaff picked the ball up from Mitchell's pass, and curled a low effort into the bottom corner past Leask, but they weren't done yet, this goal giving them more confidence to snatch another. This time Gaff was the provider, aiming for MacKay, although Leask didn't deal with it and the ball fell to Nicholas Mochan, striking into the bottom left from 10 yards out. Suddenly, Strathspey were playing with their tails up and certainly looked the better side, but it all came too little too late for them, despite them creating another couple of chances late on, testing the home sides nerves towards the end slightly, albeit Fraserburgh took all 3 points from this encounter lifting them up to 3rd in the table.
