Gardiner: We broke down a good team / Charlesworth: Not good enough in some areas Print
Formartine United dumped lacklustre Lossiemouth at North Lodge as the home side went nap to move ahead of Keith in the Highland League table.

Marc Young put the home side in front before a quick-fire double from Stuart McKay put Formartine firmly in control at the interval. Barry Somers then added number four on 67 minutes before the United captain rounded off the scoring on time added on.

John Innes spoke to Formartine manager John Gardiner at half time during Roddy Mess' testimonial match on Sunday while Lossiemouth boss Charlie Charlesworth also gave http://www.highlandleague.net/ his views.

Snippets: A very good performance, we broke a good Lossie team down. The park was heavy but playable, they were coming off a good win against Forres, we knew it would be hard.

We've cut the squad right down to 17, everyone will get their chance in the Wednesday Saturday Wednesday Saturday schedule in the weeks ahead.

Everyone wants to play against the big teams and as for the Fosters League Cup, it will be another meeting with Lossie, we go back to their ground where we drew earlier in the season.

Charlie Charlesworth (Lossiemouth)
It was not good enough in some areas today and any prospects of causing any sort of problems when the situation arose were squandered. Formartine had better possession while the pitch was still playable and opened us up.

The second half was a much better effort and although we were well beaten today in the first half, the nature of the second half goals was disappointing based on our second half effort.

I remain confused at two assistant's decisions which led to goals and another which saw Michael Dunn was penalised for after a great tackle which ultimately led to another goal. The wee man came in for some rough treatment and got no protection so all in all, I was disappointed with that as the pitch became really badly cut up so I would have liked to have witnessed a bit more savvy.

My lads will dust themselves down because I have no time to dwell on this but it was plain to see today that we need to get some players off the treatment table pretty quickly.
