Locos' Titch transfer listed / Wilson earns Lossie deal Print

Inverurie Loco Works FC have today confirmed that left-sided utility player Richard Davidson has been placed on the transfer list. The defender / midfielder rejoined the Locos last summer having spent a spell playing in Australia. It was his second spell at Harlaw Park having ended the first by moving on to Buckie Thistle. Davidson netted one goal in 1674 minutes of action last season. The club's co-manager Kenny Coull explained:

"We basically told Titchy that for his own sake he is probably better going to play football somewhere else. We have taken four guys in over the summer and I have known Titchy as a person and a player for long enough and we cannot guarantee him being in our squad. We'd rather do it sooner than later and instead of having him coming and banging on our door, we have decided to be honest with him.

"We have said to him that he would be better going and getting his football elsewhere as it isn't going to happen as regularly as he would like at the Locos. I know he wants to play football and whoever gets him will get a good, quality Highland League football player. We have taken in the players we wanted to but now it is time to start trimming our squad."

Interested parties have been urged to make contact with the club directly through the chairman.

Lossiemouth have extended the contract of attacker David Wilson, who joined the club towards the tail end of last season on a short-term teal. The 20-year-old is a former Elgin City youth and a player Grant Park boss Charlie Charlesworth knows well, as he explained to http://www.highlandleague.net/:

"David is a very good player. His close control, turn of pace, vision and natural ability make him a very good acquisition for us. As with a lot of the lads around this area, I have worked on and off with David for the last nine years and like the others, it's great to see the likes of these lads maturing and staying in the game, especially David because he has seriously struggled for the last three seasons with a medical condition that affects his breathing.

"I'm sure he won't mind me mentioning those basic details because it is widely acknowledged. Unfortunately for him, these problems came during a critical period as a youth player at Elgin City and for those critical years whilst being treated and diagnosed, he missed the most important part of his footballing career - trying to work his way into the Elgin City first team at the time.

"David is very attacking minded but an experienced head that allows him to play a number of roles but again, when fully fit. We will manage him and his fatigue levels until he comes on song.

"It's another young talented player at Grant Park. The blend is great now with the experienced lads having their work cut out guiding the youngsters through the week to week exploits associated with a fantastic and competitive league."

Wilson only managed to play for 51 minutes as he made fleeting appearances for the Coasters last season but Charlesworth is now optimistic that the club's fans will see the best of the striker, starting with Saturday's Highland League opener at Strathspey Thistle on Saturday.
